La Plata – miasto we wschodniej Argentynie, nad estuarium La Plata, na obszarze Pampy, ośrodek administracyjny prowincji Buenos Aires. 563 943 mieszkańców. Od 1884 w mieście istnieje uniwersytet.

W La Plata urodził się Raúl Lozano trener polskiej reprezentacji w siatkówce mężczyzn.

W mieście znajduje się stacja kolejowa La Plata.
